WIFE OF OGUN STATE GOVERNOR, BAMIDELE ABIODUN SEEKS INTEGRITY AMONG YOUTHS

Nigerian Youths has been charged to be fair and uphold ethical principles and behaviours in all their life engagements. 

The Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun made this admonition at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Main Auditorium last weekend while delivering a keynote address at Integrity Campaign 2.0, an event organized by a team of media professionals and entrepreneurs to strengthen moral principles and reduce unethical behaviour in the society. 

Her Excellency said, if people could be more fair in action and more engage in selfless service to God and humanity then there would be more Integrity virtues in the world. 

She stressed further that, our highest achievement and service of contentment comes from the fact that we did our best with what we had. 

She finally advised Nigerians most especially those in key positions to live by example, so that their followers could follow such. 

“People said you cannot keep Integrity, but you can’t force change on someone who has decided to go in another direction.”

“Always think of others as this will create the greatest Integrity, before yourself in some point of your life, and you will always stand for the truth, she concluded. 

The Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Niran Malaolu Chief Executive Officer of Boot Communications (Operators of Rock City FM 101.9) enjoined the youths to work together to build the nation since no American or Briton will help build it, adding that they should put into practice what they are learning from the event .

On his part, the Guest Lecturer, Professor. Lenrie Aina, in his speech entitled “Integrity and Patriotism: Two Sides To National Development” enjoined Nigerians most especially youths to also adopt the culture of reading as Integrity and patriotism are moral compasses, morality which can be attained through reading.

The National Librarian, who was represented by his Special Adviser, Paul Mamman, said, “the key to this is to inculcate patriotism amongst all Nigerians. Integrity and patriotism must occupy prominent positions in our curriculums at all levels. This is why we need to promote reading culture in Nigeria” he said

He further said, “Reading is one of the few distinctively human activities that set us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom. The books I have read over a lifetime have shaped my worldviews, my beliefs, and my life as much as anything else’.

Some of notable dignitaries at the event include ; Dr. Niran Malaolu( Chairman of the occasion), Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (Royal Icon of Integrity) duly represented by Chief Lai Labode, the Baaroyin of Egbaland, Bishop Jeremiah Okunola of African Church Solution Ground, Leme, Abeokuta, Prof Lenrie Aina (Speaker), Mrs. Jiboku, Pa. Runsewe, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun State So – Safe Corps Commander, Commander Soji Ganzallo among others.
