The Ogun State House of Assembly has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the ongoing redesign and renovation of the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, ahead of the presentation of the 2025 budget.
Presenting the report of the Adhoc Committee overseeing the project during plenary, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far but urged the contractor to speed up the work.
“The Committee is satisfied with the level of progress achieved on the project,” she said. “However, we urge the contractor to expedite its completion to ensure the facility is ready for the forthcoming budget presentation.”
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, lauded the Governor for prioritizing the renovation, describing it as a demonstration of his commitment to providing a conducive environment for legislative duties.
In a related development, the House praised the Abiodun-led administration for completing the Ojodu Abiodun-Denro-Ishasi-Akute Road, which was commissioned last week.
Speaking on the matter, Hon. Fatiu Folawewo, representing Ifo II State Constituency, highlighted the significance of the project for his constituents. “This road has brought immense relief to residents and improved the economic activities in my constituency,” he said.
Folawewo further revealed that Governor Abiodun had awarded contracts for the construction of two additional roads within his constituency. He added, “We appreciate the Governor’s swift intervention in completing these projects, and I must commend the Speaker and my colleagues for their collective support, which made this possible.”
The Speaker also called on the Governor to replicate similar infrastructure projects across other constituencies. “We plead that this gesture be extended to other parts of the state to ensure widespread infrastructural development,” Elemide stated.
The lawmakers collectively acknowledged that Governor Abiodun’s efforts in infrastructure and legislative support underscore his administration’s balanced approach to governance, benefiting both the people and the legislature.
