The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N990 to N970 per litre.
This adjustment, according to the refinery, is part of its year-end appreciation to Nigerians for their steadfast support.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, highlighted the rationale behind the decision. “As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true,” he said.
Chiejina also acknowledged the government’s role in supporting the refinery’s operations. “In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement added.
While announcing the price reduction, the Dangote Refinery assured Nigerians that the move would not compromise the quality of its products. “The refinery will maintain the best quality standards that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply,” Chiejina assured.
