Ogun Deputy Governor Receives Prestigious Engineering Fellowship Award

The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship Award by the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the engineering profession.

The fellowship, the highest honor bestowed by the Association, was presented during its 29th National Engineering Conference/Annual General Meeting held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The award was formally handed over to the Deputy Governor at a ceremony in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

In her acceptance speech, Engr. Salako-Oyedele expressed her gratitude to the Association for the recognition, highlighting the importance of skilled professionals in driving the nation’s economic growth.

She emphasized that the award would elevate the demand for certified craftsmen, who play a pivotal role in shaping the global economy.

“When people are looking for the best-qualified people to do their work, with your organisation and the profile you are setting up for yourself, I am sure that employers will look for organisations like yours, to certify people for them or even employ for their services,” she stated.

The Deputy Governor reiterated the commitment of the state government to promoting skill acquisition, pointing to the government’s Technical Vocational Colleges and training centers, as well as its Public-Private Partnership initiative aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens.

Earlier, Engr. Craftsman Mathew Ajayi, the pioneer National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen, commended Engr. Salako-Oyedele for accepting the award.

He praised her significant contributions to the engineering sector, stressing that her work could not be overstated. Engr. Ajayi also acknowledged the efforts of the Ogun State government in uplifting its citizens and emphasized the Association’s focus on empowering craftsmen.

He revealed that the Federal Government is set to implement the “Nigerian Skill Qualification Framework,” which is at the final stages of its formal gazetting into the Federal Civil Service.
