The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has officially released the list of 5,600 newly recruited primary school teachers and 80 caregivers, marking the first batch of successful applicants in the state’s recent recruitment exercise.
Announcing this development in Ibadan, OYOSUBEB Chairman, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, stated that the list of successful candidates had been duly approved by the Oyo State Governor, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde.
“The recruitment exercise was conducted transparently, without bias for political, religious, ethnic, or gender considerations. It was purely merit-based, ensuring that the best candidates were selected,” Adeniran noted.
He advised candidates to verify their inclusion by accessing the official job portal via https://www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, where the list will be available from Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Dr. Adeniran disclosed that all successful candidates would undergo a verification exercise at the Board’s headquarters. The dates for this process and other pertinent details will be communicated in due course.
He added, “The recruitment process is ongoing, and this is just the first batch. More successful applicants will be engaged as we proceed further in the exercise.”
The OYOSUBEB Chairman encouraged the newly recruited teachers and caregivers to view their appointment as a call to duty. He emphasized the need for diligence and dedication to their roles, urging them to utilize the opportunity to contribute positively to the development of education in Oyo State.
“Your employment is not just a job but a responsibility to the future of our children and our state. Be committed and exemplary in your duties,” he said.
Dr. Adeniran also reassured the public that the exercise aligns with the state government’s commitment to improving the quality of basic education and child care.
The recruitment exercise, which received thousands of applications, is part of Governor Makinde’s efforts to strengthen the educational sector and improve learning outcomes across the state.
