The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that Nigerians are fervently praying for an end to the suffering caused by the All Progressives Congress (APC), with hopes that their pain will cease by 2027.
The comment followed a statement from the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who allegedly declared that after the “heist called election in Ondo State,” Oyo and Osun States would be the next targets of the APC’s political influence.
Describing Ganduje’s remarks as “wishful thinking,” Mr. Michael Ogunsina, the acting publicity secretary of PDP in Oyo State, responded on Monday, emphasizing that every Nigerian, irrespective of state, is praying for the end of APC’s governance by May 2027.
“The APC and the bandits who roam our forests have no difference,” Ogunsina stated, adding, “Both spread devastation, sorrow, and tears wherever they capture.”
He criticized the ruling party for its greed for power while national infrastructure, such as the electricity grid, continues to collapse under its watch.
The PDP also referred to the election in Ondo as a “shame and sham,” accusing the APC of forcing its will upon the electorate. “One day, the owner will catch the thieves,” Ogunsina declared, implying that the ruling party’s time would eventually come to an end.
He further stated, “It is a shame that instead of alleviating the people’s burdens, the APC is preoccupied with capturing states and controlling the destinies of the people. What they do is no different from what forest bandits do.”
The statement continued, calling for an end to APC’s control, saying that Nigerians were tired of a party that claims to be progressive in name but fails to deliver tangible progress.
The PDP also emphasized that Oyo State, under its leadership, has remained an “oasis of peace” amid the turmoil created by the APC’s governance. “We will not surrender our freedom to predators,” Ogunsina said.
He called on APC leaders, particularly Ganduje, to abandon their plans for further state captures, asserting that the people of Oyo State have no desire for additional suffering. “No sensible person in Oyo State wants to endure more pain from APC’s misrule,” he stated.
In conclusion, the PDP declared that Nigerians are praying for a deliverance from the APC, stating, “Their prayers will be answered by the grace of God.” The party called for an end to the darkness and pain caused by the ruling government, with the rallying cry: “Enough is Enough. O to gee.”
