President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after attending the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which focused on the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

The presidential plane landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening, where he was warmly received by a delegation of top government officials, including Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

At the summit, held on Monday, President Tinubu joined other heads of state and government from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States to address the escalating conflict in Gaza.

In his remarks, President Tinubu called for an immediate end to Israeli aggression, stating that “the conflict has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering.”

He also expressed grave concern over the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

The President reiterated Nigeria’s stance for a two-state solution, advocating for the peaceful coexistence of Israelis and Palestinians in security and dignity.

He further emphasized Nigeria’s call for a ceasefire, urging the international community to support the resolution.

Tinubu also recommended the establishment of a dedicated secretariat to oversee the implementation of the summit’s resolutions and suggested that a select group of Heads of Government be tasked with canvassing global support.

Following the summit, President Tinubu had a private audience with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. While the details of their discussions have not been disclosed, the meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
