As the Ondo State governorship election approaches, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is stepping up efforts to secure the victory of its candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi. With election day set for Saturday, the PDP is reinforcing its organizational structures across the state, uniting key stakeholders, and mobilizing support.
In a strategic meeting held in Oka Akoko by party stakeholders in Ward 7 of Akoko South West Local Government Area, leaders expressed unanimous support for Ajayi’s candidacy.
Ward Chairman Adeloye Adeniyi, along with other key figures such as Vice Chairman Ademola Samuel and Secretary Kareem Ibrahim, signed a resolution pledging intensified efforts to achieve victory.
“We resolve to intensify efforts individually and collectively towards the victory of the PDP and its candidate, His Excellency, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, in the November 16, 2024, governorship election,” the statement read.
The meeting underscored the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of growing challenges. A significant part of the gathering was devoted to commending the contributions of PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, to the party’s progress in both Ondo State and nationwide.
Recognizing Ologunagba’s efforts, the party leaders passed a Vote of Confidence in him, highlighting his role in organizing and mobilizing support.
“The Chapter unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence in Hon. Debo Ologunagba as the highest-ranking party officer from the state for his sterling leadership at both the Ward and other levels of the party in Ondo State,” the resolution stated.
In addition, Ward Executives expressed their ongoing support for Ologunagba and pledged to work in collaboration with other leaders to ensure a successful election outcome.
They praised the dedication of PDP members at every level for their commitment to Ajayi’s campaign and encouraged strong voter engagement leading up to the election.
Highlighting Ajayi’s track record and deep connection with the people of Ondo State, the Ward Excos expressed confidence that the electorate would rally behind him.
The resolution also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold a transparent, fair, and credible electoral process.
“We trust that INEC will conduct the election in a manner that is free, fair, and credible,” the statement emphasized, urging the electoral body to ensure the integrity of the vote.
As the PDP prepares for the final days before the election, the party maintains that its emphasis on unity, hard work, and a commitment to a transparent process positions it as a strong contender for the governorship seat in Ondo.
With a united front, energized leadership, and focused support for Ajayi, the PDP is determined to bring about meaningful change in Ondo State through a victorious election outcome.
