Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has presented a proposed budget of N549.16 billion for the 2025 fiscal year to the Kano State House of Assembly.
In a statement shared on his X handle on Friday, Yusuf highlighted key allocations, noting a 57:43 capital-to-recurrent expenditure ratio upon approval.
The governor disclosed that the capital expenditure is estimated at N312.63 billion, while the recurrent expenditure is set at N236.53 billion.
“This morning, I had the honor of presenting the Kano State 2025 Fiscal Budget, totaling N549,160,417,663.00 billion, before the Kano State House of Assembly,” he stated, adding that the capital and recurrent expenditures stand at N312.63 billion and N236.53 billion, respectively.
According to Yusuf, this allocation ratio underscores the administration’s commitment to strategic investments across essential sectors.
“This budget is projected to have a ratio of capital to recurrent 57:43 percent, respectively, when approved. Important sectors of the economy have their share as follows; Education: 168.4 billion (31%), Health: N90.6 billion, Transport: N12.2 billion, Agriculture: N21.03 billion, Water Resources: N27.23 billion, and Infrastructure Development: N70.78 billion,” he detailed.
Reflecting on the current fiscal year, Yusuf noted that the 2024 budget, titled ‘Budget of Restoration and Transformation,’ allocated N437.3 billion.
