A fatal accident along the Lambata-Suleja road claimed six lives over the weekend. The crash involved a DAF truck and a Peugeot 406 car, with a total of 11 individuals affected.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accident took place at Gwachipe village, located about three kilometers from Lambata.
According to accounts, the victims—all male—suffered severe injuries, with three individuals dying instantly at the scene and the other three succumbing to injuries en route to Suleja’s General Hospital.
Sources at the hospital indicated that the bodies of the deceased were later transported and held at the General Hospital for their families to claim.
Among those who tragically lost their lives was a lecturer from the Federal University of Technology Minna.
Niger State Sector Commander, Mr. Kumar Tsukwam, confirmed the incident and attributed the cause of the crash to overspeeding. “Within seven minutes of the accident, our team was at the scene to conduct rescue operations, but unfortunately, six people lost their lives,” he stated.
