On Wednesday evening, the Senate confirmed seven ministerial nominees submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, approving them for positions within the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
This decision followed a comprehensive screening session held by the Senate’s Committee of the Whole, during which each nominee’s qualifications and roles were reviewed.
The approved Ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, set to lead the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment; and Ambassador Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Additional nominees confirmed are Dr. Jumoke Oduwole for the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Idi Muktar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education. President Tinubu had previously requested the Senate’s expedited consideration of his nominations, emphasizing the importance of filling these critical roles swiftly.
