Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has voiced his optimism that by the end of President Bola Tinubu’s first term, Nigerians will be appreciative of his administration.

Wike shared these thoughts at the inauguration of a new road from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3, referred to as the N5 arterial road, marking the fifth road project unveiled within the past week in Abuja.

Wike underscored Tinubu’s dedication to addressing economic and infrastructure challenges across Nigeria, expressing confidence that the president’s strategies would soon deliver notable relief, particularly in mitigating hunger and enhancing infrastructure.

He encouraged Nigerians to keep praying for the country and its leadership, assuring them that the Renewed Hope Initiatives would yield wide-reaching benefits.

Wike highlighted that recent road projects had already created both direct and indirect job opportunities for hundreds of FCT residents.

The minister further urged Julius Berger Construction Company to accelerate the timeline for completion, requesting it be reduced from 18 months to 14 months.

He promised the possibility of additional contracts if the company could deliver sooner, noting that 70 percent of the project payment had already been made upfront by the FCTA.

“I assure you, by the end of President Tinubu’s administration, Nigerians will find reasons to smile. These issues, such as hunger and suffering, have persisted for years, through various administrations,” Wike stated.

Representing Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Ibrahim Bomai, commended the FCTA’s ongoing road projects, emphasizing that a robust road network is essential for boosting socio-economic activities.
