Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi (APC, Ogun West) has alerted the public about cybercriminals who have hacked his phone and are using it to request money from unsuspecting contacts.

The fraudulent solicitations reportedly involve financial transfers to certain bank accounts, appearing as urgent requests from the senator.

According to a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, friends, family, associates, and the general public are urged to ignore any money requests linked to the senator’s hacked phone line.

“Members of the general public, friends, relations, family members, and associates are advised to completely disregard such solicitations as they are not from the senator,” Odunaro stated.

The incident has been reported to security agencies, and efforts are underway to track the perpetrators and prevent further scams.

Senator Adeola emphasized that he would never ask anyone to transfer funds on his behalf for emergency or urgent situations.
