…Zazzau Emirate Mourns the Loss of Prince Umar Shehu Idris
A tragic auto accident along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway has claimed the life of Alhaji Umar Shehu Idris, a prince of the Zazzau Emirate and son of the late Emir of Zazzau. Alhaji Umar, who held the title of Dan Isan Zazzau, passed away on Tuesday afternoon as a result of the crash.
Until his untimely death, the 41-year-old prince was the Assistant Secretary to the Zazzau Emirate Council. He is survived by two wives and two children.
Confirming the sad news, Mallam Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, the Media and Publicity Officer of the Zazzau Emirate, stated that arrangements for his burial would be announced in due course.
This unfortunate incident comes just 39 days after the death of his biological mother, who was the wife of the late Emir, Dr. Shehu Idris, and mother-in-law to the current Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
