The Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr.) Babatunde Adeyemo, has been honored with an esteemed award of recognition by the Canadian House of Commons.

The award was presented during the closing event of the Solteque “Canada Trade Mission 2024,” held in Ontario on October 4, 2024.

The Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre, Ontario, Shafqat Ali, presented the award to Dr. Adeyemo, commending him for his visionary leadership and outstanding contributions to the real estate sector.

“We are proud to honor Dr. Adeyemo for his remarkable achievements in the real estate industry. His leadership and innovative spirit have made a significant impact,” Ali stated.

The Canadian House of Commons, the lower house of Canada’s Parliament, plays a crucial role in shaping the country’s legislative agenda, making this recognition a prestigious honor for any recipient.

During the event, Ali expressed his pleasure at the success of the Canada Trade Mission, which brought together artisans, traders, and investors from around the globe.

“This trade mission has been an invaluable platform to showcase the economic potential within Canada’s inclusive business environment. We are eager to strengthen our bilateral ties with Nigeria and enhance mutual opportunities,” he said.

The parliamentarian also highlighted the contributions of the Nigerian community in Canada, praising them for their impact in various sectors, including business, education, healthcare, and technology.

He further noted, “Our government is providing rebates to 600,000 small and medium-sized businesses this year. For example, a business owner with 10 employees could receive up to $4,000 if they file taxes before December 2024.”

In response to receiving the award, Dr. Adeyemo expressed his gratitude to the Canadian House of Commons and the event organizers.

He remarked, “I am deeply humbled and grateful for this award of recognition. I didn’t expect such an honor at this event. This award is not only a recognition of my efforts but a celebration of the Nigeria-Canada relationship.”

He continued, “This recognition will motivate me to continue pushing boundaries, driving growth, and making a difference in the lives of people. I am committed to bridging Nigeria’s housing deficit through innovative real estate solutions.”

While speaking, High Chief Olawale Olaleye, Chairman and CEO of Solteque Group, organizers of the trade mission, emphasized that the event was aimed at promoting investments between diaspora Nigerians and Canadian investors.

“This initiative is designed to foster collaboration and encourage investments in housing and infrastructure, particularly in Nigeria’s South West geopolitical zone,” Olaleye noted.

The Canada Trade Mission 2024, which began on September 30 and concluded on October 4, featured a vibrant exhibition of traditional fabrics, indigenous cuisine, and promising real estate ventures aimed at enhancing trade and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Canada.
