The Ijesa North Traditional Council has announced a seven-day curfew in Ilesa, starting tonight, to mourn the passing of Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland.
The curfew will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly to maintain peace and order during this period.
The council expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Oba Aromolaran II, who was renowned for his dedication to the progress and development of Ijesaland.
The curfew is a necessary measure to ensure public safety and honor the late monarch’s legacy of peace.
Security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force and local vigilante groups, will enforce the curfew strictly.
Essential services like healthcare and emergency responders will remain accessible, but movement will be limited during curfew hours.
