The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has identified 21 candidates who presented fake IJMB results for the 2023 admissions process.

According to a policy document obtained in Abuja, JAMB revealed that 12 of these candidates were recommended by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

JAMB criticized the institutions involved, stating that the recommendations were made despite the candidates’ fraudulent credentials.

The board emphasized that all certificates must bear the signature of the institution’s head (VC/Provost/Rector) to be considered valid.

In related developments, JAMB had previously introduced the Nigerian Post-Secondary Education Data System verification platform in 2021 to curb the use of fake IJMB and JUPEB results.

This move was in response to irregularities uncovered by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Federal Ministry of Education.

JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to taking decisive action against such fraudulent practices to preserve the integrity of the education sector.
