Olubadan Elevates Oba Isioye-Dada, Serving Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Four Others to New Positions

Ibadan – The Oubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on Friday elevated six traditional chiefs in the Balogun line, including Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and Serving Senator Sharafadeen Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District.

The elevation followed the vacancies created by his ascension to the throne and the demise of the late Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, who died on July 24, 2024.

The promoted chiefs are Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, now Balogun of Ibadanland, formerly Otun Balogun; Oba Kolawole Adegbola, now Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, formerly Asipa Balogun; Oba Olubunmi Isioye-Dada, now Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, formerly Ekerin Balogun; Oba Dauda Azeez, now Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland, formerly Ekarun Balogun; Senior Chief Akeem Adewoyin, now Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, formerly Abese Balogun; and Serving Senator Sharafadeen Alli, now Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, formerly Maye Balogun.

Oba Olakulehin urged the chiefs to use their new positions for the progress of Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria, and to dedicate their lives to the service of humanity.

The traditional chieftaincy rites were performed by the Oluwo of Ibadanland, Chief Wahab Labosinde, who decorated the chiefs with traditional Akoko leaves.

Dignitaries present included Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and former Governor of the state, Oba Rashidi Ladoja; Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole-Foko; Asipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; Ekaarun Olubadan, Oba Adebayo Akande; Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Hamidu Ajibade; notable sons and daughters of Ibadanland; religious leaders; guests; and others.
