Ensure Peaceful Protests, Ooni of Ife Charges Youths

The Ooni of Ife, His Majesty Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has advised youths planning a national protest to ensure it is not hijacked by those with ulterior motives. He emphasized that while protesting is a civic right, it should not lead to violence or destruction.

The Ooni praised President Bola Tinubu for involving traditional rulers in government discussions and noted that the President is open to dialogue. He urged unity and constructive engagement rather than destruction.

The Dein of Agbor, His Royal Majesty Benjamin Ikenchuku Gbenoba, also called on youths to avoid actions that could harm the country, suggesting they give traditional rulers a chance to work with the government to address their concerns.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, stressed the need for patience and calm, highlighting the importance of addressing insecurity to reduce hunger.

He encouraged listening to the government’s efforts and remaining hopeful for Nigeria’s recovery.

Overall, traditional leaders are advocating for peaceful protests and constructive dialogue to address the nation’s challenges.
