President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 14, 2024.

The appointment was announced through a State House press release signed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, on Wednesday.

The President’s appointment of Walson-Jack is seen as a move to strengthen the Civil Service and enhance its efficiency and effectiveness in delivering public services to Nigerians.

Walson-Jack, a seasoned bureaucrat, has served as Federal Permanent Secretary since 2017 and has worked in various Ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Defense.

She will succeed Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024, after a distinguished career in the Civil Service.

President Tinubu has urged the new appointee to bring innovation, integrity, and a strong commitment to the rules and regulations of the Civil Service.
