Federal Universities’ Governing Councils to be Inaugurated on July 4

The Governing Councils of Federal Universities, Polytechnics, and Tertiary Institutions will be inaugurated on July 4, 2024, as announced by Prof. Aisha Maikudi, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja.

The inauguration follows the selection of 560 appointees to the councils and boards of Federal Government-owned tertiary institutions, approved by President Bola Tinubu to ensure effective management across Nigerian institutions.

Notable appointments include Chief Bisi Akande as Chairman of the University of Ibadan’s governing council, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) at the University of Lagos, and Isa Yuguda at the National Open University.
