The push for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has gained momentum as Honourable Obi Aguocha, representing Abia State’s Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South constituencies, visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his Daura residence.
During the visit, Aguocha sought Buhari’s support for a political dialogue aimed at resolving Kanu’s detention and potentially securing his release.
Aguocha expressed regret for past missteps and urged a political solution to address the grievances of all parties involved, promoting national unity.
Former President Buhari welcomed Aguocha’s approach and expressed openness to exploring political solutions for Kanu’s case.
Recently, Aguocha also led a bipartisan group of 50 House of Representatives members in urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the Attorney General to pursue legal avenues for resolving Kanu’s detention.
This visit and initiative reflect a broader effort to find a peaceful and constructive resolution to Kanu’s trial and detention issues.
