In a bid to ensure the continuous education of children in conflict-prone and terrorist-infested areas, the Kaduna State Government has begun merging 359 primary and secondary schools with those in safer locations.
Governor Malam Uba Sani made this announcement during a capacity-building program organized by the Nigerian Police Force Schools Protection Squad in Kaduna. Represented by the Chief of Staff, Kaduna Government House, Sani Kila, the governor emphasized the importance of safeguarding the education of children in affected areas.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Dabigi, praised the establishment of the School Protection Squad, calling it a significant step towards ensuring the safety and security of educational institutions, which are the foundation of society. He emphasized the collective commitment to protecting children’s futures and creating a conducive learning environment.
This initiative aims to provide a safe and secure environment for students to continue their education without interruption, despite the challenges posed by conflict and terrorism in the area.
