In preparation for the Eid-il-Fitri celebrations, the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, have intensified security measures across the state.
The Corps has mandated its officers and personnel to collaborate closely with Muslim leaders (IMAMS) in all 20 Local Government Areas to ensure the safety of Muslim prayer grounds.
According to a press statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander(Dr) Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the Corps aims to enhance grassroots security and educate Muslims and community leaders on safety precautions before, during, and after the Eid-il-Fitri festivities, effective from April 8th to April 14th, 2024.
Commander Ganzallo emphasized the importance of Christian families supporting their Muslim neighbors by maintaining vigilance and preventing any incidents of burglary or attacks while Muslims are attending Eid prayers. The Special Squad Department of the Corps has been tasked with preemptively thwarting any potential attacks by cult groups during the festive season.
Furthermore, Ganzallo issued a stern warning to individuals with malicious intentions, emphasizing that the Corps will not tolerate any disruption of the peaceful atmosphere during the Eid season and will take decisive action against any perpetrators.
Ganzallo extended his congratulations to Muslim families, especially the officers and personnel of the Corps who observe Ramadan, and expressed prayers for their well-being and fulfillment of their desires.
