The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to tackling the prevailing economic difficulties nationwide.
This commitment was underscored during the Salako Annual Family Ramadan Lecture/Tafsir held at the Ota Recreation Club, Ota, under the theme “Principles of Community Development: The Islamic Perspectives.”
Salako-Oyedele emphasized the government’s awareness of the hardships faced by the populace and its unwavering determination to provide relief through its policies.
She assured that the state government will uphold its responsibility by prioritizing the welfare of its citizens, including distributing food items to mosques across the state during Ramadan, as part of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration’s efforts to enhance the well-being of the people.
Key relief measures initiated by the Ogun State Government include financial aid of #50,000 to tertiary students, #10,000 to parents of primary and secondary school pupils, and ongoing #10,000 palliative payments to workers in the state.
Salako-Oyedele expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success, highlighting its significance as a platform for spiritual guidance during Ramadan and the promotion of Islamic principles.
Senator Kamaldeen Akin Odunsi emphasized unity in Aworiland, urging people not to let politics divide them and advocating for employment opportunities for unemployed youth in Ota and Ogun West.
Dr. Lawal Olaosebikan Olohungbebe, Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Community Development, stressed the importance of community development, distinguishing it from mere community growth.
He emphasized the need for democratic economic processes, empowerment, and inclusive decision-making for sustainable economic growth.
Muslim faithful were urged to embrace peace, love, unity, and corporate social responsibility by Dr. Olohungbebe.
HRH Oba Abdulwasiu Ogungbayi, the Onitetiku of Owode Ota, commended the Deputy Governor’s efforts in promoting Islam and developing Awori and Ogun West, offering prayers for her success.
Imam Abdulganiu Bankole, representing the Muslim community, called for more developmental projects in Awori and Ota, highlighting perceived deprivation among Muslims in the local government.
