Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, actively participated in a labor protest on Tuesday, expressing concern over the escalating economic challenges in the country.
Governor Makinde emphasized the alarming levels of hardship and poverty, stating that many individuals are struggling to feed themselves or secure employment.
In response to the pressing issues, he urged all stakeholders to collaborate in finding effective solutions and conveyed optimism that the situation could be reversed.
Addressing the protesters, the governor stated, “There is hunger and hardship in the land. We must do something about it.” He acknowledged that the deteriorating economic conditions extend beyond Oyo State, constituting a nationwide concern.
Governor Makinde called on the federal government to take decisive actions to alleviate the suffering of the people.
He stressed the importance of implementing policies that foster economic growth and job creation, highlighting the urgency for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to address the prevailing challenges.
