Ex- Humanitarian Minister, Sadiya Arrives EFCC Headquarters Over Alleged Fraud

The former minister of social development, disaster management, and humanitarian affairs, Sadiya Umar-Farouk, has arrived the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters over alleged fraud.

The ex-minister would be interrogated regarding an ongoing investigation into the N37,170,855,753.44 that was purportedly laundered during her time in office through a contractor named James Okwete.

It was confirmed that Umar-Farouk finally honoured the EFCC’s invitation at about 10 am on Monday, January 8.

She also revealed at about 10:20 am, on her X page that she was present at the EFCC headquarters.

She wrote: “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating,” Umar-Farouq tweeted on Monday morning.
