As Nigerians approach the ballot on Saturday to elect both governors and state house of Assembly Candidates, a call has gone to eligible voters to show their anger through their votes and shun any action capable of truncating national Peace and peaceful conduct of the elections.
The Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, gave this charge on Friday urging them o shun violent protests against the scarcity of new naira notes and fuel.
Owaloko charged voters especially youths not to allow themselves to be used as tools by selfish politicians to disrupt tomorrow’s elections.
Owaloko appealed to the youths and Nigerians at large to be more patient with the Federal Government over the new naira policy and fuel scarcity.
According to him, it is expedient for youths not to engage in any protest that would affect the growth and development of the country, saying that the security of lives and property of citizens should be a priority.
Oba Akeem said instead of fighting or engaging in violent protests they should go out tomorrow and show their displeasure with their PVC and their votes. Owaloko said they should cast their vote for whomever they want. Vote, don’t fight. That is the way to develop this state and this nation,” he said.
