An appeal has gone to eligible voters in Ogun State and the nation at large to go and collect their PVC now that collection is at the ward level nearer and closer to them at the grass root to enable them exercise their franchise in the 2023 general elections.
the State Director, National Orientation Agency, Ogun State Directorate, Mr. Christopher Kolawole gave this charge in Abeokuta while speaking with newsmen, stating that permanent voters cards will help them to elect candidates of their choice in the upcoming elections.
Mr. Obadina admonished the youth, elites and civil servants in the state to come out on election day to cast their vote, and not to stay at home watching TV, turning streets to soccer field or listening to radio running political analysis on the election activities of the day.
The NOA boss in his emphatic charge said “Your Vote is Your Power” hence the need for the people to go and collect their PVCs before it is moved back to INEC Nigeria LGA offices after January 22.
Mr. Obadina lauded INEC for the technological advancement and innovation with the use of BIVAS, saying it is indeed a game changer while he looks forward to subsequent elections where usage of ATM, PoS etc, may be invented in the electoral process of our beloved country.
Responding to callers, Mr. Obadina said people should not mistake polling units for registration areas, that the electorates are not to go to polling unit but at the designated ward level collection centre.
He said the Agency will intensify its sensitization, public enlightenment, mobilisation campaign for electorates to collect their PVCs and play their active roles in the electoral process
On the new redesigned Naira notes, the State Director said it’s the colour that was changed, and that the January 31st deadline for the phase out of the old Naira notes is sacrosanct.
He charged the populace to accept, spend and embrace the new Naira notes as it’s only 3 denominations of #1000, #500 and #200 that was changed adding that it’s a criminal offence to reject the new notes and anyone who does will face the law.
He said the National Orientation Agency, Nigeria., in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria, is currently embarking on nationwide sensitization campaign of the populace on the new redesigned Naira notes.
