FIBAN National Election/Congress: Matters Arising

Date:

Reading time: 3 Minutes

I have watched with keen interest the controversy surrounding the electioneering process of our association for the year 2023.

The situation is so pathetic as no peaceful and logical intervention could be proffered by the President -in-NWC to harmonize all sectors of the Association for a peaceful electoral process.

I think at this junction, the reasoning voice of the leaders and elders, especially the BOT of the association should not be jettisoned. The position of the BOT as the major stakeholder and custodian of the association in form of the OWNER of the association should be respected.

I therefore want to advise the National President and other members of NWC to please give the advisory position of the the BOT a re-think.

Consequently, I AKOGUN AKINRELERE OLUMUYIWA ( The NP1) humbly wish to dissociate myself from the purported congress and planned election scheduled for 12th and 13th January,2023 holding at Ado-Ekiti my base.

I humbly request other members of the NWC to please follow the path of truth, justice and fair play our Association is known for.

God bless FIBAN, Nigeria.
Akogun Akinrelere Olumuyiwa
(National Vice-president 1)

From the Office of the National Secretariat

May I humbly salute the courage of the BOT members, National Executive council and the entire members of the FIBAN for taking things calm and presenting our views with dignity and passion for the progress of our dear association.

With this development may I notify our members and the general public about the illegality going-on in Ado-Ekiti which the President claimed to be under his purview to hold election with just only three states which is Abuja, Ekiti and Ondo.

We are to question the following points;

1. Is it only three states that form the quorum to hold the national general election?

2. The BOTs are the body to intervene in any crisis that is beyond the requisition of the president and give *advisory role* which they had rendered and the president single-handedly *dissolved* the BOTs which was constituted by NWC due to the fact that is not in his favour.

3. Can anybody that is being portioned for going against the provision of the constitution have the right to contest without setting the panel of investigation to look into the matter and give report of clarity before proceeding.

4. According to the provision of our constitution, any aspirant either state or national holding an elective post in the association and willing to recontest should tender his/her resignation letter before partaking for reelection. Does, Comr. Taiwo Adebayo Gold (Nat’l Gen. Sec) Princess Njoku ( Nat’l Vice President 2) tender their resignation letters before recontesting?

5. All matters raised surrounding the issue of financial reports, COBAB, Night out with broadcasters, including the national building in Ibadan and more are yet to be given any stewardship accountability for even at the executive level.

6. We aware that crisis are in some states which his yet to be settled and how do we alot any position to such states?

7. Even in our Congresses, before any submission become resolution there must be simple majority of two-third of members, with this we request to know the profile of members that partake in the purported Congress that was said it holds on 12th January, 2023 at Ado-Ekiti the sitting state of the 1st National Vice President, Akogun Olumuyiwa Akin Akinrelere who did not partake and dissociated with the process and Ondo State that wrote petition on the NGS still in presence?

The BOTs, Elders, Executive and Members of our dear association, let truth be told and stand firm devoid of any unlawful pressure and intimidation.

May our association continue moving forward.

Thanks
Shola Seriki
Nat’l Asst. Gen. Sec
