Ekiti State Assembly Loses Speaker at 66

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Funminiyi Afuye has died following a cardiac arrest, aged 66.

Afuye who hailed from Ikere Ekiti, in Ekiti South senatorial district died on Tuesday.

He was the speaker of the Ekiti state house of assembly until his death and served as Commissioner for information during Kayode Fayemi first term in office.

His last official engagement was on Tuesday when he accompanied the Governor of the State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to inspect some bad portions of roads in Ado Ekiti.

The state government is yet to release an official Statement as at the time of filing this report.
