The State Governor of Ekiti, Kayode Fayemi, has sworn in the new Head of Service, Bamidele Olugbenga Agbede.

This follows the retirement of the previous Head of Service, Morenike Olapeju Babafemi, who completed her tenure last week, Thursday.

In his speech, the governor stated that he viewed the selection of the Head of the Civil Service as one of the most important success factors for any administration. As a result, he institutionalized a process-driven structure to guarantee that only the best candidates are selected to lead the State public service.

He urged the recently elected Head of Service to uphold the trust placed in him and support the objectives and programs of the state government as boldly and explicitly stated in the 5-pillar plan, as it is also anticipated that he will provide stability for the future administration.

The Governor used the occasion to openly express gratitude and appreciation for the immediate past Head of Service, Morenike Olapeju Babafemi, the first female Head of Service in Ekiti State, whom he describes as a trailblazer par excellence who made significant progress in reforming the public service and improving quality service delivery.

In response, the New Head of Service, Bamidele Olugbenga Agbede, promised to build on the accomplishments of the previous Head of Service while also introducing innovations that will make the state’s public servants more proficient and efficient.
