Ogun Govt Restates Commitment To Harness Agricultural Value Chain To Boost Food Production

Ogun State government has restated commitment to harness agricultural value chain to boost food production as well as to diversify the economy.

Governor Dapo Abiodun gave the assurance on Monday at the closing of the 11th Gateway International Trade Fair held at the M.K.O Abiola trade fair complex,Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

Represented by his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the governor pointed out that the theme of this year’s trade fair,” harnessing the agricultural value chain for sustainable industrial and economic development’ was apt given the urgent need to make agriculture the mainstay of the nation’s economy.

While noting that trade fair exhibitions have continued to be the meeting point for manufacturers,wholesalers and retailers, governor Abiodun assured that the current administration will continue to give trade fair exhibition its pride of place for economic growth.

According to the governor, no stone will be left unturned towards making the state the nation’s industrial hub by expanding on the existing infrastructure as well as putting in place new ones .

He commended the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) for the success of the trade fair,saying government will continue to support the chambers for greater socio-economic advantage.
