Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Lauds the Developmental Strides of Igbinedion University

The sterling performance of Igbinedion University over the last two decades has continued to warm her into the hearts of national and international associations in the academic circles as well as professional bodies.

The most recent of these accolades was from Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria under the leadership of Pharm (Prof.) Cyrill O. Usifoh, FPSN, FPC Pharm, FNA Pharm, who paid a courtesy visit to the University on Thursday, 6th January 2022.

The PSN boss, who threw his weight behind the institution’s developmental strides in the area of Research and Development urged the University’s Management to remain focussed.

Prof. Usifoh, who said Igbinedion University as the Premier Private University in Nigeria has continued to blaze the trail in all areas, also pledged more collaborations with tertiary institutions in Nigeria. According to Prof. Usifoh, ‘PSN is determined to ensure that our association works together with industries, research institutes and tertiary institutions. This level of cooperation and interaction will be of mutual benefits, since research institutes will now conduct research on the problems of industries, while universities will produce the appropriate manpower to run our industries’.

The PSN boss stressed that such collaborations will help in the production of high-quality drugs and the standardisation of products and services as well as commercialisation of research findings.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, PhD FAS, while responding stated that professional collaboration is a revolutionary initiative in the nation’s academic circle that every university must strive to adopt.

The university don expressed the optimism that with the recent collaborations between Igbinedion University, Okada and other renowned Professional Bodies like the PSN; the University will continue to play critical roles in positively changing the academic narratives of Nigeria’s educational sector.
