The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Secretary to the state’s government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi and several other revered sons and daughters of the Ogun State are billed to attend the 2021 edition of Ogun State Youth Awards organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter with the support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the State.

Chairman of 2021 Ogun State Youth Awards Committee, Comrade Sokoya Damilola made this known today during a press conference as part of activities to herald this year’s edition of the award ceremony held at the Youth House, MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Comrade Sokoya noted that the biggest and most prestigious youth ceremony will hold on Tuesday 28th December, 2021 at Valley View Auditorium, Government House, Isale Igbehin Abeokuta to commence with Red Carpet at 3pm, while the main event will begin at 4pm.

Comrade Sokoya said, “Ogun State Youth Awards is an annual event put together to recognize industrious young indigenes and Organizations that are promoting the image of Ogun State in positive limelight in their different areas of callings”.

“The Award which was initiated by the Ogun State Youth Council in the early Millennium continues to shine as an avenue to assure patriotic young indigenes of the commitment of the State leadership to recognize their hard work and patriotism”, he stated.

While commenting on why the organizer of the event will be awarding all the three shortlisted nominees of ICON of Humanity, Comrade Sokoya noted that it was due to tremendous public concern demanding a review on the decision to have subjected the category of “ICON OF HUMANITY’ to voting as every act of charity should indeed be celebrated without any clause.

Comrade Sokoya stressed that the category of ICON of Humanity will cease to be open for contest in future editions of the Ogun State Youth Awards.
