16 Children crushed to death in Lagos on Tuesday

At least 16 school children are said to have died on Tuesday, December 7th after a truck reportedly ran into them in Aguda area, Ogba, Lagos state.

The truck was said to have suffered brake failure and rammed into the kids who were just closing from their school.

Angry residents set the truck on fire afterward.

Update on Ojodu Grammar School Accident

Normalcy has returned  in Ogba, Ojodu Grammar school axis of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area and Ojodu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State which became riotous as a result of the accident involving a trailer which was allegedly trying to escape from VIS officials check at Ojodu and was reported to have run into some students at grammar school Ojodu of which the fatality rate is yet unknown.

Consequently, the students and hoodlums pursued the truck and caught up with it at around excellence hotel Ogba and damaged the vehicle and thereafter went on rampage attacking any truck or trailers in sight. As at the last count, over 4 trailers/trucks have been vandalized and damaged by the mob.

However, it took the swift intervention of men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) led by it’s commander CSP Yinka Egbeyemi who raced to the scene and restored normalcy.

Right now, the situation is calm in the vicinity as the men of RRS are on ground with their vehicles to prevent any reoccurrence of threat to law and order.
