Party chairman reacts As APC Members Kick Against Sowunmi, Adefolu Nomination As Exco Members

The Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abeokuta South local government of Ogun State has rejected the return of Chief Sunday Sowunmi and Hon. Saburi Adefolu as the state executive member.

The members are seeking non factional leaders as their executive in the state Party.

According to them, the rejection was to avoid representatives that are not loyal to the administration of the Government.

The members alleged that Sowunmi and Adefolu recently led some delegation from his group to the immediate past Governor, Ibikunle Amosun’s faction of the party.

They said “We are also seeking equity and diversity in sharing of what they have all laboured for, while us trying to put a stop the supercilious of a man who claims all appointment and nomination for post are been determined by him only as a cabinet member of the present administration.

“We are drawing the attention of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun to the chaos that occurred earlier this year at Ward 7 obafemi owode local government, Sodubi when the Former Governor and national leader of our dear party Aremo Olusegun Osoba was re validating his Membership, Sowunmi group/Loyalist raised abusive and foul words at governor Abiodun.

“We have decided to cry out loud, to take caution and safeguard from precedent of a leader that his ambitiously blind and positioning loyalist for his personal interest and not the progressive interest.”

In his reaction, the chairman of APC Abeokuta South local government, Hon. Adetunji Henry Fagbenro said that the leadership of All Progressives Congress in the State has endorsed the return of Souwnmi and Adefolu as the exco members.

He said that no members of All Progressives Congress in APC is kicking against the return of Sowunmi and Adefolu.

Fagbenro maintained that the the public should disregard any news against the return of the duo, saying that the leaders of the party have agreed on the return of the duo

He said that in a political party, it is expected issues erupt, appealing to the aggrieved group to cooperate with what the party is doing for it to move forward, saying that this is not the time to fight.

Fagbenro added that there is no faction in the party, saying that the party is one and will continue to be one.
