Ogun NANS Commends Gov. Dapo Abiodun On Pension Payment, Seek Intervention For Bursary

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ogun Joint Campus Committee under the leadership of Comrade Samson Adeyemi has commended the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his initiative to commence the payment of pension allowances for pensioners in the state.

This was revealed in a release by Comrade Samson Adeyemi, NANS Ogun JCC Chairman and obtained by our correspondent.

Comdrade Adeyemi said, “we received with joy the news of an approval of N500m by the Governor Dapo Abiodun led government in Ogun state to commence the payment of pension allowances for pensioners in the state”.

“As a student body who believed in the ideology of commending good gesture where and when necessary, we use this medium to appreciate Governor Abiodun for this move which is not only necessary but long overdue”.

“Governor Abiodun has indeed shown his magnanimity and passion to alleviate the plight of Ogun residents and this, we are noting”.

“Meanwhile, we want to seek the indulgence of our student friendly Governor on the quick payment of bursary for the indigenous students in our dear state”.

“It should be recalled that the process of collation of names of beneficiaries for the bursary award was held few months ago but no fund has been approved yet for the payment”.

“We would also like to restate that the bursary is necessary at this time to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic hardship which has had negatively affect the global economy and clearly our parents”.

“Going by your track records of good gesture , we are however hopeful that our bursary will be paid within the shortest possible period, he concluded.
