The Yewa North Patriotic Forum has maintained that it will not take anymore political condolences from the Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun if killing do not stop in the Ogun west areas of the state.

The President of YNPF, Com. Omobolaji Oluwafisayomi Sanni in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta noted that the forum cannot love the governor more than its people that are being killed on daily basis.

Sanni however advised the governor to allow traditional councils of Oba recommend warriors who are capable in dealing with insecurity across the state so as to take part in the ongoing Amotekun recruitment exercise.

He stressed that people that would be employ into the Amotekun security outfit must have a deep knowledge of grassroots and security.

He also condemned the procedure for recruiting personnel into the outfit describing it as stringent.

Sanni noted that the Forum would have kept quiet if not that the Yewa axis is the most tormented by incessant killings.

He noted that the recruitment procedures may frustrate qualified candidates who are genuinely interested in the corps.

The Forumn President said, “our attention has been called to the ‘stringent’ method of registration for the intending members of the Amotekun security group in Ogun state.

” We would have naturally allowed the Governor do this as he feels good but, because security is every mans business coupled with the precarious situation we have found ourself with the menace of the killer herdsmen in Ogun state and most especially in Yewa north, we find it expedient to speak up.

“It would be recalled that the Ogun State Government had announced the recruitment of personnel into the Amotekun Corps immediately after the collective enemy of humanity called killer herdsmen struck and killed over twenty persons in Yewa North Local Government. Hence as victims of this dastardly act by the herdsmen, we won’t sit and watch while excruciating processes stop the operationalization of AMOTEKUN in Ogun again.

“The government in it release had asked those interested in joining the corp to submit two copies of the downloaded form at the office of the Commander, Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps).

“The government also directed applicants to visit the Office of the Commander, Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps), Former Ministry of Works, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta to pick up the application form.

“In this war situation in Ogun state, this kind of recruitment process may make qualified candidates who are genuinely interested in the corps lose interest and in turn recruit only hungry ones who are not interested in the job or result into low turnout of our people.

“It is a known cliche that majority of those who may be interested in joining the corps may not be internet savvy. How then do you expect them to register online? And this are the people who are really ready to fight this battle.

“However, we are of the opinion that people who have good knowledge of the grassroots and security, no matter how small should be given top priority in the recruitment exercise.

“Our Traditional Council’s of Oba should also be allowed to recommend warriors who are capable of entering our reserves and deal with all killer herdsmen, bandits and criminals in all our localities.

“We believe that our Governor will yield to our advice.

“However, we must say that we love Mr Governor but not more than our people who are been killed on daily basis.

“If this does not stop, we would take no apologies or political condolences.”
