Social Welfare and Well-being Programmes Our Priority – Ogun Deputy Governor

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has said the current administration in the state led by Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun will continue to give priority to social welfare and wellbeing programmes aimed at imparting positively on the lives of the people of the state.

The Deputy governor stated this at the induction and capacity development training of board members and key officers of Ogun State Agricultural and Multi-purpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA) held at Obas complex, Oke mosan Abeokuta.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele said that the resurgence of OSAMCA was no doubt a symbolic demonstration of successful implementation of the building our future together agenda, adding that the training will further position the Agency to fulfil it’s mandate towards creating more prosperity for the people of the state.

” The revival of OSAMCA is one of the strategies of this administration to broaden the economic base of the state and which will undoubtedly lead to wealth creation, poverty alleviation and ensuring employment opportunities for the people of Ogun State” she said

While enjoining all participants of the training programme to ensure they key into it, as a means of charting a new and more practical way particularly in creating avenues for economic sustainability, she opined that the training will to a large extent also enhance the performance of the agency.

Earlier, in her remarks, the Commissioner for Industry Trade and Investment, Mrs Kikelomo Longe, urged all participants to make use of the opportunity to sharpen their understanding on Micro Credit Scheme and Small and Medium Scale enterprise, expressing her ministry’s continued support towards ensuring that OSAMCA achieve it goals.

Also speaking her Agriculture conterpart, Dr Adeola Odedina, said credit linkage was an integral part of the goals of this government, appealing to the agency to make credit facilities available to farmers at little or no interest rate.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the OSAMCA, Hon. Abayomi Hunye appreciated the state government for taking the bold step in reviving the agency which is responsible for economic empowerment of the state, especially at the grassroots.
