Folorunsho Adisa Welfare Initiative feeds 50 widows in Oyo community

No fewer than 50 widows on Friday, benefited from the food items donated by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Folorunsho Adisa Welfare Initiative in Iseyin area of Oyo state.

The NGO gave foodstuffs which consist of Rice, beans and gallons of vegetable oil were distributed in rations of 10kgs each at the event which held amidst pumps and pageantry at the foundation’s office in Palace quarters, Iseyin.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NGO, Princess Omolara Folorunsho said the gesture was part of the initiatives instituted to keep the memory of her late father alive even two years after his death.

Emphasising that there was the need to support widows in Iseyin because of their strategic status in the community, Omolara also stated that the gesture was one of the key responsibilities which her late father was known for, hence the need to fete the widows.

The philanthropist however, promised that the foundation will provide more support for both old and young in Iseyin.

She said, “I am only playing my part as a daughter from this community. This foundation will continue to support both old and young people from Iseyin.

“I am doing this so as to sustain the legacy my late father has built. I will continue to give back to Iseyin community. Many more opportunities are coming.”

The widows however, commended the foundation for donating foodstuffs to them at this critical time.

They described the gesture as a life saving, noting that they will have enough to feed on for a long period of time.
