ENDSARS: ‘Iya Yi To Leko’ Movement Drums Support For Campaign

‘Iya yi to leko’ movement, a non-governmental organization and advocacy group has drummed support to join it’s voice with that of Nigerian youths calling for an end to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), an arm of Nigeria Police Force as a result of its brutality and harassment of Nigerians.

The group, based in Lagos and chaired by Wale Fasan, has been an advocate for good governance and poverty alleviation.

In a statement, the Director of Operations of the Movement, Segun Popoola drummed support for the protests but however urged that the campaign should be done peacefully and not to create violence.

“We want SARS to be ended due to so many illegal acts attributed to them”.

“We are fully in support of the #endSarscampaign. We support all the groups calling for SARS to end”.

Recalled, Protests have been ongoing by youths across the country against the operations of SARS, with calls for scrapping the security outfit resting the air.

“While we are not shying away from all the high handedness of SARS, we urge all groups to channel their grievances peacefully”, Popoola said.
