Ogun Governor, Abiodun Restates Commitment To Good Governance

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that his administration remains committed to delivering on its promises and visions to the people of Ogun State in all entirety particularly with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic gradually wearing off.

The Governor who gave the reassurance at this year’s 21st edition of Odun omo-olowu themed ‘Harmony’ held at Olowu Palace, Oke Ago Owu, Abeokuta, assured that everyone in the state will enjoy the dividends of good governance in no distant future.

Represented by the Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the governor added that there was a lot to be thankful for especially in this unprecedented year, expressing his governments gratitude for the love and support he has received from all the citizens of Ogun State, especially the citizens of the Owu Kingdom.

” I am pleased that in the last one year, the Owu Socio-Economic Council, chaired by former president and Balogun of Owu Kingdom Chief Olusegun Obasanjo had been set up and the Development Councils is a veritable tool for governance. We as government will not hesitate to give support for any program that will promote the social wellbeing of the citizens of the state despite the effect of the pandemic” he said

While congratulating the Kabiesi and people of Owu Kingdom on this year’s celebration, Governor Abiodun noted that the theme of the omo-olowu day was in line with the theme of the recent 60th National day Anniversary Celebration titled Togetherness, showing how everyone must join hands as one to work for the development of Nigeria as a country, hitherto Ogun as a State.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman of the Omo-Olowu day planning committee and Jagunmolu of owu kingdom, Chief Rotimi Olasode Martins, said this year’s edition with the theme ‘Harmony has brought a new order in owu kingdom , where sons and daughters are willingly contributing to the progress and development of the kingdom.

He added that it has also brought about the establishment of Owu Social Economic Development Council (OSEDC) aimed at promoting the socio economic, wellbeing of the sons and daughters and the development of Owu kingdom.
