Ogun Finance Ministry Generates N129m In Six Months, Strategizes For Post COVID- 19

The Ogun State Commissioner for Finance, Dapo Okubadejo, has stated that the Ministry between January to June this year generated over N129.9m, just as the Ministry is already revitalising the State economy as part of the Post-Covid 19 economic plans of the State Government.

Okubadejo, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Adekunle Hassan, reeled out the plans to include adoption of a robust reform in Land Use Administration and Amenities Charges as well as introduction of revenue harmonization scheme to eliminate multiple taxation and block revenue leakages, thereby raising the bar of performance in revenue generation.

Explaining the mode of operations of the Ministry’s Special Task force being set up for revenue monitoring and enforcement, the Commissioner assured that the measure was aimed at reducing fake ticketing and fraudulent activities of revenue agents at all toll points across the State.

Also, the State Accountant General, Micheal Idowu presented the 2020 budget performance of his Office before the lawmakers, who also examined that of the Office of the Governor, Chief of Staff, Bureaux of Political Affairs and Administration, Cabinet and Special Services, Protocol and Ceremonials as well as the State Liason Offices in Abeokuta and Abuja amongst others.
