…calls for brotherly love among Muslims during and after Ramadan.

… appreciates efforts of Ogun State Government

The President, Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Sheikh (Imam) Laidi Orunsolu has felicitated with all Muslim brothers and sisters in Ogun State during the ongoing Ramadan in spite of the present coronavirus pandemic that has affected the world.

Alhaji Sheikh (Imam) Liadi Orunsolu made this known in a statement issued to journalists and obtained by Tropic Reporters correspondent in Abeokuta this Thursday.

He equally appreciated Ogun State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun and members of his cabinet for their continuous efforts to curtail the spread of the pandemic.

Sheikh Orunsolu said, “I want to appreciate the members of the Muslim Community in Ogun State for the decorum displayed since the outbreak of the pandemic in our dear state.”

“We are particularly delighted by the level of compliance to the initial press release by the Rabitah requesting Muslims to stay at home and away from all gatherings that can predispose us all to the virus and other diseases.”

“We are conscious that this is a very difficult decision for us collectively, more so as it involves suspension of solat in congregation in the mosques, suspension of Jumah services, snowballing into Ramadan and depriving us all of our communal Taraweeh, Tafsir sessions, Ramadan special lectures and joint Iftar programs. Definitely, this decision is for our own good and the good of all, so we beseech Allah for His forgiveness and mercy, that He removes the virus from our land, so we can return to our normal ways of life.”

“Ramadan as we all know offers immense benefits, hence, I wish to implore our brethren that as we commence the last ten days of Ramadan, let us prepare to deepen our spiritual activities especially as we prepare to keep vigil in search of the Night of Majesty. Laylatul Qadr is a potent epoch that comes once in a year and by which Allah has told us, “it is a night whose value measures beyond the worship of a thousand months”.

“We are therefore enjoined to optimally utilise these last ten nights to seek Allah’s pardon over our errors, pray for our nation Nigeria and the world at large.”

“It is most important that we do not neglect the obligatory observance of zakatul fitr at its prescribed time and manner. Let us endeavor to be our brothers keepers. Let us continue to share with others and show mercy to all so that the Almighty Allah in the Heavens can be merciful unto us too.”

“I want to use this medium to specially appreciate our amiable governor Dapo Abiodun OFR and members of his cabinet as they work assiduously to curtail the spread of the pandemic and care for the good people of Ogun state. May Allah to continue to guide our leaders aright and bless their efforts and pray for the leadership of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State. May Allah bless us all with His guidance, increasing Eeman, sound health and contentment as well as adequate wisdom to lead the Ummah of Islam.”

“I pray Allah cleanses us and our lands of all ills and troubles before the end of Ramadān.”

“Thank you all for your continuous support, cooperation and understanding, he concluded
