Yesterday 30th April, 2020 made it exactly 17 years since Prince Gbenga Abefe Adeboye a renowned radio presenter of note died and a lot of radio presenters across Nigeria took to social media platforms to pay tributes to the late presenter.
While a lots of people including radio presenters also wrote beautiful tributes about late Gbenga Adeboye popularly known as Jegentiele or Alhaji, Pastor, Oluwo about how his passion and love for radio presentation has positively influenced and impacted their lives most especially among Ogun State presenters.
One of Ogun State versatile radio presenter, Olumide Awolowo popularly known as Orobo Presenter or Gedu Master has said there is nothing in the world that would make him forget the impact of late Gbenga Adeboye in his life.
Olumide Awolowo said this on WhatsApp platform while commenting on an open letter written to late Gbenga Adeboye by the National President of Federation of Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria,
(FIBAN), Comrade Desmond Nwanchukwu.
Awolowo stated that late Gbenga Adeboye’s prophecy led to the birth of his daughter and it also saved him from hired assassins in 2011.
Awolowo said, ” I personally cannot forget Gbenga Adeboye in anyway because I was opportuned to speak on FM for the first time in my life and it happened on late Gbenga Adeboye’s program on OGBC2, 90.5FM in Abeokuta”
“He gave me a prophecy, which led to d birth of my Daughter same date he died”
“Gbenga Adeboye also prophesied that some people in radio presentation would not want what he said about me come to pass and he (Gbenga Adeboye) pointed to two people and one of them sent hired assassins to murder me in 2011”
“How can i forget PRINCE GBENGA ADEBOYE of blessed memory, He lived a good life worth emulation.”
Awolowo however used the opportunity to thank God for the life of his Daughter that marked her birthday yesterday.
