The leadership of Democratic Forum, under the auspices of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on its supporters and members to massively enrol for the ongoing Independent National Electorial Commission (INEC) continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise.
The call came on Monday through the group’s Coordinator, Mrs. Ayo Ademolake, during the group’s weekly meeting (women and youth wings), which took place at Ago Egun Hall, Isabo in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.
The meeting which had in attendance well over Two Hundred and Fifty One (251) members including lots of new members was geared towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Ademolake while appealing to those above 18 years who have not yet registered to endeavour them to the advantage of the exercise as the group has made arrangements with the electoral umpire in the state to register members for PVC from Tuesday 10th to Thursday 13th May, 2022 at a designated locations within Abeokuta metropolis in order to avoid being disenfranchised during the elections.
While advising its members to stay firm in the party, another Coordinator of the group, Okunowo Olamide urged Members and new members of the group to be optimistic as all of them should work towards the victory of People’s Democratic Party in the next polls.
She equally urged eligible voters to turnout en masse and embrace the registration process.
Okunowo Olamide also stressed that Democratic Forum was recently floated to increase public awareness, political and social reorientation of women/youths in political formation and representations.
Okunowo Olamide said, “The group as part of its aims and objectives will also provide leadership, mentorship, guidance and recommendation to political aspirants if need arises to ensure proper accountability, transparency, qualitative representations and also work towards the victory of People’s Democratic Party in the forthcoming 2023 elections”.
“Democratic Forum as a group since establishment have been trying in its possible best to empower women and youths as part of the group’s efforts to raise the bar beyond poverty line by seeing to the need of the less privilege ones and to also create jobs through different hand-on equipment that’ll be given to its members periodically”.
She added that the group will continue to empower them before, during and after the elections with equipment that’ll will enable them to be independent and create jobs “, she concluded.
