2023: Fayoyin Clinches Ogun NNPP Governorship Ticket

The Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party in Ogun State, Comrade Olaposi Oginni on Monday, advised the incumbent governor Dapo Abiodun to start writing his handover note ahead of 2023 election.

Oginni, who spoke during the party’s state congress and primary election for the gubernatorial candidate held at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Our correspondent reports that the party has endorsed a youth, Ezekiel Fayoyin as its governorship candidate.

The NNPP congress was witnessed by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, chairman of the National Electoral Committee, Hon Abdullahi Dogonnama and Party delegates.

The NNPP chairman, Oginni appealed to people of Ogun State who want to “move to another level” to support the party.

He said: “This is the time for us to move to another level. We are here today to nominate one of us who we have chosen, and who the delegates will also choose before everybody here, to be the flag bearer of NNPP for Ogun State gubernatorial election come March 2023.

“We are sending warning to governor Dapo Abiodun to start to write his handover note because NNPP is taking over in Ogun State.”

Speaking after emerging as the party’s candidate, the business man, Fayoyin expressed his excitement while urging the youths to support his ambition.

He said: “I want to use each and everyone of us that please, get your PVC. Social media is not where you are going to cast your vote. We are going to cast our vote right at the polling booths and after casting our votes, we must defend it.

“I want to beg the youth that now that you have a representative that can speak in your language, I want you to please, let us cooperate and work together.

“I want us to work together so that we can develop Ogun State. Let’s show them that the youths are capable.”
