At least 20 people, including key leaders, have been killed in a violent clash between rival terrorist groups in Katsina State.
The deadly confrontation occurred early Wednesday morning in Dan-Ali community, Dan-Musa Local Government Area, as part of a territorial battle between the Mai Nore and Buzaro factions.
Security expert Zagazola Makama shared details of the conflict in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account. “Early today, a fierce battle erupted between Mai Nore’s gang and the Buzaro group in the Dan-Ali area,” he stated.
He further revealed that intelligence reports confirmed significant casualties, with over 20 bodies discovered at the scene.
Eyewitnesses described the clash as brutal, with prolonged gunfire reverberating through the community for hours. “It was an intense exchange of fire. We could hear gunshots from a distance, and many people fled the area in fear,” an anonymous source recounted.
According to reports, several bandits sustained injuries during the confrontation. The battle appears to be part of an ongoing territorial rivalry between the two groups, which have been vying for control of the area.
